We whole heartedly believe all dogs matter!

Our Story

Our passion is to help First Nations communities in Canada. We strive to reduce the over-population of dogs by finding homes for strays and unwanted dogs here in Ontario. All the while assisting the community in conducting low cost wellness and assisting at spay/neuter clinics. We also provide education, food and other supplies as we build relationships within these communities free of cost to them.

Most of our dogs are from Northern Canadian Reserves where vet care and food are scarce. Dogs are left to breed causing extreme overpopulation in the 100s. Dog culls or shoots are an occurrence in some of these communities, with no other quick solution to keep their communities safe.

Since 2016, through an application process, and a proper home and reference check of the potential adopters, Lost Boys Hope has rescued and successfully adopted out over 6000 dogs. All our dogs are placed in home-based fosters where they learn to become well rounded family dogs. Their journey begins with familiarizing the dog with rules and structure of living indoors. Shelter environments are no place for dogs who are used to a free roaming live style. They learn love, trust and kindness within our foster homes. Lost Boys is predominantly volunteer run. The money we receive for adoptions unfortunately only covers a portion of our operating costs. We rely heavily on the generosity and the compassion of our supporters through their donations and support of our fundraising events to cover remainder of our expenses.

Lost Boys Hope believes strongly in spay/neutering, vaccinating and parasite control; it is the only way to stop the unwanted from being born and contagious diseases from being spread. We have implemented with help from our Veterinarians, a spay/neuter program that ensures that all our dogs are sterilized at age of maturity. We want them all of our dogs to live happy and healthy into their senior years. With two vet teams, 140 fosters, community volunteers and our supporters by our side, our mission will be successful for everyone. Dog and families past and forever.

Although we are one of the largest foster based rescues in Ontario, our admin team is small. We continue to give the personal touch to everything we do! You will see our founder in the trenches with her team!!
